Seon Stany Almeida was born on 13th January, 1991, in a traditional village in Mumbai to a family of music lovers. He began his official training at the age 8 of, learning how to master the Tabla- a South Asian membranophone percussion instrument. His passion for Tabla has helped him learn many secrets of life and has changed him as a whole new person.
His journey through which he still feels connected to this instrument has won him love and appreciation in the form of many prizes as a kid in school, and many accolades as an adult. To this date he has participated six times in solo instrumental competitions at Taluka level, out of which he has held first position five times.
He has helped arrange the rhythms for a live folk dance group on Doordarshan Channel, a national Indian television network, in 2012, and also for the cultural festival of the National College on Channel V, India, in September of the same year.
Apart from Tabla, Seon also plays various other percussion instruments such as the dholak, dholki and handsonic- an electronic percussion instrument. The soul inspirational source that has kept him constantly motivated are his parents. He draws happiness and immense joy through his passion because “it gets me into a different blissful mode, into a state of trance because this is what I live for.’
