About

Australian post-classical pianist and composer Christopher Dicker (born May 1989) began his musical life as a guitarist. He claims in interviews that he didn't begin to play the piano seriously until his middle twenties. Alongside childhood friends Ryan Mclerie & Chris Shaw, they formed the band House vs Hurricane in 2007, releasing a US-made full-length and EP between 2007 - 2011, touring internationally after prolonged success in Australia. After bidding adieu to the band in 2011, he started the band Bear Witness with longtime friend Mitch Coon, releasing a further full-length and two EPs. In the summer of 2014, Christopher found his musical home and began his training in classical piano, studying under pianist Jenny Ford at the Melbourne School of Music. This culminated in a bursting passion for the piano resulting in the 2017 release of 'A Priori: Music for the Back of Your Mind'. Touted as 'music as a vehicle for thought', it was described by Killyourstereo magazine as 'made up of truly serene, touching music intended for the deep and reflective' and found quick rotation on many of the piano-centric playlists on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. He is currently collaborating with a number of other musicians and filmmakers with a slate of release scheduled for 2018 and into the future.
